Can my period be delayed 3 or 4 days ? I am about to get married next month and my period coincides with the date of my wedding night or ‘suhaag raat’. I am really upset about it. Please tell me how I can delay my period by 3 or 4 days minimum, if this is not possible then can I get my periods 7 days early so that I can enjoy my wedding night.
Please help me!

Hi,
This is a fairly common worry most brides-to-be have. Do not worry; stress will only cause an upheaval in your menstrual cycle and hormones. As for your periods, unfortunately, it is not possible to prepone them.
However, there are medications that can postpone or delay your periods by a few days. These pills are hormonal medications that help to increase the amount of progesterone, which causes your body to signal the start of your menstruation or periods. The medication must be taken in consultation with your gynaecologist, since the concentration and dosage depends on your body, the regularity of your menstrual cycles and is altered to allow for any associated symptoms you might have. It is also important for you to know that these pills are NOT foolproof and you might still get your periods on time, so be prepared. You might also experience symptoms like nausea, cramping, hot flashes, excessive bleeding, prolonged periods and menstrual cycle imbalances as side effects of this medication. Finally, remember that a marriage is a stressful time for both you and your groom. It is important that you both enjoy your wedding and not buildup ‘what will happen on the first night’ to such an extent that it leads to disappointment. Talk to him and tell him your predicament, you might be surprised at how understanding he might be. You can also read top 8 home remedies to prepone your periods
