Hot flashes are one of the most common health complications experienced by menopausal women. Even though there are many natural remedies that are found to be effective in easing this trouble; flaxseeds are regarded to be the best of all of them. Here are some tips to deal with symptoms of menopause.
Flaxseeds, known as alsi in Hindi, are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, fibre and estrogen content. Inclusion of a tablespoon of these seeds in your diet is found to reduce the occurrence of hot flashes in menopausal women. A research study had shown that women who included these seeds in their dietary regime reported a significant drop of 57% in the intensity and occurrence of hot flashes [1]. This is due to the action of antioxidants present in these seeds which help in maintaining the hormonal balance in the body thereby alleviating hot flashes.
Tips:
- Start your day by eating a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds on an empty stomach to get some relief from hot flashes.
- Alternatively, you can add one tablespoon of flaxseeds to your dish while cooking or to any energy drink or fruit juice to gain its health benefits.
